Year 8 Art

Portraits

Students used themselves as a starting point, to draw using pencil. Students focused on observation skills and the use of tone and pattern for the background.

Tribal Masks

Free from the constraints of having to draw the features of a face accurately and with the added challenge of using paint, students were asked to adorn, decorate and transform the face. Inspired by African Tribal masks and Maori face tattoos, Elements focused on were colour, shape and pattern.

Collage

Students took a still life drawing and livened them up with colour taken from magazine pages. Elements employed were Colour and form.
