Year 8 Art
Portraits
Students used themselves as a starting
point, to draw using pencil. Students focused on observation skills and the use
of tone and pattern for the background.
Tribal Masks
Free from the constraints of having to draw
the features of a face accurately and with the added challenge of using paint,
students were asked to adorn, decorate and transform the face. Inspired by
African Tribal masks and Maori face tattoos, Elements focused on were colour,
shape and pattern.
Collage
Students took a still life drawing and
livened them up with colour taken from magazine pages. Elements employed were
Colour and form.
Year 9
Creature study
These are drawing studies of fish completed
as works in progress. Students are currently printing linocuts based on these
creatures. Visit us again to see final results or come our Hoppers Crossing
Secondary College Art Show later this year.
Year 11 Cubist Folio
Artwork.
These are two works in progress by year 11
students’ Charlie-Anne C. and Saskia T. for Unit 1 Art. Based on the artistic
techniques of George Braque and Pablo Picasso, students reworked a still life
drawing into a mixed media artwork. Principles employed were balance and
harmony.
